Two of our clients, FY Racing and Dillon Van Way, compete in the largest sanctioned rally series here in the United States, Rally America.  The first event of the series took place last weekend in Atlanta, MI and the temperature barely broke zero degrees Fahrenheit.

We launched Dillon’s new livery at this event and it was received really well.  It was an excellent representation of Dillon’s clean but youthful style.

The FY Racing car, piloted by Adam Yeoman, was in excellent form heading into the event.  Still running a livery we put together for him last season, the car had a few new sponsor stickers on it for 2013.

As usual with this event, there was almost zero grip so both teams had to take it easy and try to keep momentum through every corner.

In the end, Dillon placed 2^nd in 2WD and 9^th overall while Adam placed 5^th overall.  It was a good showing for both teams and they are excited to tackle the gravel roads of the 100 Acre Wood rally at the end of February.  For more photos, check out Dillon’s website at www.DVW600.com and the FY Racing Facebook: www.facebook.com/fyracing

AJ Anderson joins team as Motorsports Director as agency grows services into brand, content development and sponsorship management

CHARLOTTE, N.C. The 27-year-old Anderson exhibits great passion for cars, racing and action sports.  The former long-time, Chicago-area marketing manager for NOS Energy Drink most recently served as team marketing manager for FY Racing rally team, winners of 2011 Rally America “Rookie of the Year” and heralded as trail blazers in self-promotion and content creation.

Anderson worked closely with Weapon in developing the FY Racing’s team marketing, press and content, which industry insiders and media have dubbed “spectacular,” “brilliant,” “well-executed,” “killer,” “amazing,” and “an example for others to follow.”

FY Racing is a rally team based out of Houghton, MI made up of two friends, Adam Yeoman and Jordan Schulze.  The duo from the Upper Peninsula has had extensive success in the Rally America series and is in the process of expanding their motorsports capabilities.  When the rally team was still very young they came to us to develop their brand into what it is today.

Jamie McMurray exploded onto the NASCAR scene when, in 2002, he scored a win in his second-career Sprint Cup Series start while substituting for the injured Sterling Marlin. The former world karting champion worked his way up through the NASCAR Truck Series and the NASCAR Nationwide Series before signing with Chip Ganassi Racing, where he ran his first full season of Sprint Cup Series action in 2003 en route to being named the series’ Rookie of the Year. He joined Roush-Fenway Racing in 2006 and established himself as one of the top drivers in the Ford Racing stable, scoring two of his biggest career Sprint Cup wins at the famous superspeedways of Daytona and Talladega. For 2010, Jamie returned to race for Ganassi at Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing and continued his winning ways in his first race at the Daytona 500 and later took the prestigious Brickyard 400 for a sweep of NASCAR’s two biggest events of the season.

Vaughn Gittin Jr. has become one of drifting’s most iconic figures and his machine, the Monster Energy/Falken Tire Ford Racing Mustang, one of the sport’s most identifiable cars. Vaughn is known best by his aggressive, foot to the floor, big smoke driving style. Being such a fierce competitor, Vaughn is known as the only American to win a D1 Grand Prix event, not once – but twice. In 2005 Vaughn stunned the world when he won the D1GP USA vs. Japan. In 2007, he brought America home the gold once more by winning the D1GP World Championship. He has achieved two wins and multiple podiums throughout his Formula Drift career.
